I am super excited to be a part of this, you guys. The folks putting this on are rad and the whole pop-up shop thing is really groovy. It is also the launch of SHIP&SHAPE, an online boutique featuring all kinds of handmade goodness. I’m really looking forward to hearing more about this venture myself. So, come and chat some people up about why making, supporting and purchasing hand crafted goods is so terrific.
This is also the first of 5 holiday sales I will be participating in, so be the first to check out the new goods!
holiday sales
Although it has been sunny, 80 degrees and heartburstingly beautiful in Minneapolis, I have to start thinking about the holidays and jam out as much jewelry as possible. This season I have at least 2 (probably 5) events I’ll be selling my goods at. I’ll keep you posted as I learn more about the other possibilities. For now, I’ll give you the details on the ones I have info about.
On December 3rd and 4th my jewelry will be for sale at Finch’s Holiday Time Boutique. I won’t be there with the goods because I will be at another sale that weekend, BUT I have already started making a line of affordable ($15-$60) jewelry specifically for this event. Most of the pieces are around $30 and still rad. There are already over 40 vendors for this and it sounds like the perfect place to get some unique, local, holiday gifts!
I am SUPER pumped about getting accepted as a vendor for this year’s No Coast Craft-O-Rama. Yes! The sale takes place December 2nd and 3rd at the Midtown Global Market on Lake Street in Minneapolis. The event is free, so for sure come and say hi. Aside from the classic Carrier Pigeon pieces, I will have a mess of new jewelry! I have a collection of pieces that have been in the works and under wraps for months already, so I’m getting excited about showing them off.
There are definitely more events in the works, so I’ll continue posting as I get the specifics.
Art-A-Whirl!
This is my first year participating in Art-A-Whirl. It is the largest open studio and gallery tour in the US and the thought of potentially hundreds of people coming in and out of my studio for 3 days is making me more than a little anxious. My OCD is in overdrive and I’m pretty sure I’ve cleaned and rearranged everything in my space at least 5 times. Lucky for the art goers, this will make for a pleasant, organized experience. Because believe it or not….not all artists are slobs. At least not me. My work space is impeccable.
So if you’re in Minneapolis this weekend, come pay me a visit!

Materials: recycled sterling silver, found objects and lost wax casting
Carrier Pigeon Jewelry is inspired by history, evolution, and the forces of nature. Lauren Neal is the sole designer and metalsmith behind Carrier Pigeon Jewelry. Lauren established her business in 2008 with a focus on deconstructing the idea of what jewelry can be and what it can be transformed into. She works predominately in recycled sterling silver, found objects, and with hand carved lost wax casting.
