All jewelry that is IN STOCK will ship within 48 hours of your purchase. Items that are made to order and/or OUT OF STOCK, will be specified as such in the item description along with an estimated time of arrival.
Items ship USPS First Class Mail. Please contact me directly with any special shipping requests.

Each piece of Carrier Pigeon Jewelry is handcrafted, with great care, by yours truly. Therefore, I would advise you to take great care of your piece by following my advice.
Carrier Pigeon Jewelry uses sterling silver, oxidized silver, gold vermeil, brass & bronze. Each of these metals requires individualized care. No matter what the piece, it is always recommended to remove your jewelry before showering, sleeping or engaging in any strenuous activity. Put it in a safe place…love it. Please read on for some tips and when in doubt, just send me a message.

Real sterling silver will tarnish over time, no matter what. Most of the time this natural patina looks cool. However, if you would like to keep your silver shiny & bright, purchasing a polishing cloth is a cheap and simple solution for keeping your shiny silver shiny. The “sunshine polishing cloths” for sterling silver work great and you can buy them on Amazon.com for about $3. You can also contact me directly and for a small fee, I will polish your piece for you!
If you have a matte/brushed finish on your silver piece and you’d like to freshen it up, take the green, rough side of a scotchbrite sponge and gently (while dry) rub it over your piece. Again, if you’d rather bring/send the piece to me, please do so! I will have your piece looking new in no time.
Please avoid using drugstore jewelry cleaners, as they have chemicals that may negatively interact with the oxidation/gold vermeil and may compromise the overall quality of your piece. Email me at lauren@carrierpigeonjewelry with any questions.
Will my blackened silver or oxidized piece stay black/oxidized? || back to top
Each piece of oxidized and blackened silver jewelry is treated individually by hand and therefore will have it’s own unique finish that varies slightly from piece to piece. For blackened pieces such as the tips on our Matchstick jewelry, we carefully blacken the silver and then use a protective finishing laquer.
Unfortunately, there is no permanent treatment to blacken silver. The blackened/oxidized look will fade/rub off slightly over time BUT this can be significantly decreased if you avoid contact with water, chemicals and strenuous activity while wearing the piece. Take the jewelry off before showering, swimming or working out.

Items can be returned ONLY for store credit. The jewelry must be returned within 30 days of purchase and in new condition. Shipping charges apply.
Do you do repairs? || back to top
I will repair your Carrier Pigeon Jewelry, free of charge for up to 90 days after purchase. You will need to provide proof of purchase and ship the piece to me in a padded mailer. Please contact me directly for mailing instructions.
My chain broke. Can you replace it? || back to top
Send an email to lauren@carrierpigeonjewelry and tell me what you need replaced. I will either repair the chain for free (see repairs) or you may purchase a new chain for a small charge. We keep lots of chains in stock.

I do everything in my power to minimize my carbon footprint…both personally and professionally. Whenever possible, I use natural/non-chemical solutions in my studio. I use local, recycled silver. The jewelry you purchase will arrive in a recycled paper gift box. Most importantly, all Carrier Pigeon Jewelry is handmade to last in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
